LAHORE β Popular YouTuber Ducky Bhai filed a bail application on Tuesday in a Lahore court, seeking relief in a case involving alleged promotion of gambling applications.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo heard the plea and issued notices to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for a response. The application was submitted through Ducky Bhaiβs legal counsel, Usman Mushtaq.
In the bail petition, Ducky Bhai denied any involvement with the allegations mentioned in the FIR. He argued that the case had been registered to harass him and tarnish his reputation.
The FIR accuses him of promoting gambling applications. However, the petition points out that no specific banned app was mentioned in the complaint, and no evidence confirms Ducky Bhaiβs alleged role as a country head for any platform.
The petitioner stated that no charges of online fraud have been established against him. He further contended that Sections 13 and 14 of the PECA Act are not applicable in this case. Additionally, Section 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code, cited in the FIR, is a bailable offence.
Ducky Bhaiβs legal team emphasized that there is no complainant present in the case, highlighting the lack of substantive evidence. The petition requests that the court grant bail to the YouTuber, allowing him to continue his professional work without undue restriction.
This development comes amid growing attention on online content creators in Pakistan, particularly concerning alleged promotion of illegal platforms. Analysts say the case could set a precedent for how social media influencers are scrutinized under cyber laws.
The court is expected to review the bail application after receiving the NCCIAβs response, determining whether Ducky Bhai can be released while investigations continue.
