Esteemed singers Aima Baig and Trishala Gurung are all set to add their performances to the grand opening ceremony of the Asia Cup 2023 in Multan on Wednesday.
The opening event will precede the first match of the tournament, featuring Pakistan and Nepal, to be held at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
Scheduled from August 30 to September 17, the 2023 Asia Cup will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. However, not all matches will be conducted in Pakistan, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declined to send their team to Pakistan due to security concerns.

Pakistan will compete in Group A alongside Nepal and India, while Group B will feature Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. While four matches are scheduled to be played in Pakistan, the remaining nine, including the final, will be hosted in Sri Lanka.
A unique feature of the 2023 Asia Cup is its adoption of the 50-over format, aimed at aiding teams in their preparation for the upcoming World Cup in India later in the same year.
The 50-over Asia Cup was last contested in 2018, with India reigning as the defending champions.
