The Hum Awam Pakistan Party, headed by Muhammad Amjad Chaudhry, has made a request for the symbol of bat held by PTI from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The Hum Awam Pakistan Party, led by Muhammad Amjad Chaudhry, has formally requested the bat symbol from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Ahmer Zaman Khan, the additional secretary general of the party, emphasized that the recent decision by the ECP, which occurred at night, underscored the paramount importance of the Constitution and the law. He explained that their initial election symbol, the lock, was withdrawn due to failure to submit returns, prompting the request for the bat symbol.
Ahmer Zaman mentioned that the party had previously sought the bat symbol, and now that it is available, they urge the Election Commission to acknowledge their earlier submission and allocate the symbol to them. Asserting their right under the Constitution to make such a request, he expressed confidence in the Election Commission’s fair consideration.
Recently, the Election Commission canceled the registration of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) and withdrew the election symbol Eagle, reallocating it to the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party. However, the details of symbols allotted to political parties are not currently available on the commission’s website. The space designated for the list of symbols allotted to political parties indicates that it will be available soon. The fate of the PTI’s request for the bat symbol may become clear in the upcoming week if the matter goes to court.
