Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has once again come under threat, this time through a WhatsApp message sent to the official number of the Mumbai Traffic Department in Worli. The alarming message has triggered heightened security around the actor and initiated a formal investigation by the police.

“A direct threat to Mr. Khan’s life was made, including details about a potential car bombing,” said a senior officer. “We’re utilizing digital forensic tools to track down the sender and are treating this as a high-priority case.”
Not the First Time
Salman Khan has been the target of numerous threats in the past, largely stemming from his involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, known for its hostility towards Khan due to this incident, has been linked to several of these threats.
In March 2023, Khan’s team received a threatening email advising him to “stay alert.” Earlier, in June 2022, two armed individuals were spotted conducting reconnaissance near his Bandra home, reportedly planning an attack. These events led to the actor being granted Y+ security status, which provides him with round-the-clock protection by armed personnel.
The blackbuck poaching case, in which Khan was convicted in 2018, continues to stir resentment, especially within the Bishnoi community that considers the animal sacred. This ongoing hostility has kept threats to the actor’s life alive over the years.
Khan’s Bollywood Journey
Despite the looming threats and controversies, Salman Khan continues to be a towering figure in the Indian film industry. Known for his action-packed roles and magnetic screen presence, he remains a major box office draw.
Khan’s career highlights include iconic films like Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), and Sultan (2016). Beyond cinema, he is also recognized for his charitable efforts through his NGO, Being Human, which focuses on education and healthcare for the underprivileged.
Current Status of Investigation
While neither Salman Khan nor his representatives have commented publicly on the latest threat, insiders confirm that the actor is actively coordinating with law enforcement officials.
Mumbai Police have assured that comprehensive security measures are in place to protect Khan and his family. The investigation is currently centered on tracing the origin of the WhatsApp message using digital forensic methods, with updates expected as the probe progresses.
