Globally celebrated star Taylor Swift stole the spotlight at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), winning an impressive seven awards, including the prestigious Video of the Year.

This achievement brings her career total to 30 VMAs, tying her with Beyoncé for the highest number of wins by any artist.

In her acceptance speech, Swift expressed gratitude to her “boyfriend, Travis,” referring to NFL star Travis Kelce, for his support during the making of the “Fortnight” music video, which elicited enthusiastic applause from the audience. She praised Kelce for bringing joy and magic into her life.

Swift also encouraged her fans over 18 to register to vote in the 2024 presidential election, though she did not directly mention Kamala Harris’ campaign despite her previous endorsement.

Her seven wins this year match Beyoncé’s record, solidifying her status as one of the VMAs’ most decorated artists. Eminem holds the record for the most VMAs won by a male artist with 14 awards.

Swift and Post Malone also took home Best Collaboration for “Fortnight,” presented by Flavor Flav and Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles.
