Pakistan isΒ a pioneering stepΒ to launch theΒ world’sΒ largest Chess in Education program on February 2,Β 2024 byΒ Prime Minister H.E.Β Anwar ul Haq Kakar.Β LedΒ by National Mind Sports and the relentless efforts of President Β Chess FederationΒ of Pakistan Mr. Hanif Qureshi who is also a member of FIDE chess in education(CIE) commission , Β this transformative initiativeΒ is poised to revolutionize theΒ world of education.
TheΒ goal of theΒ Chess in Education programΒ isΒ not onlyΒ toΒ introduce chess asΒ part ofΒ theΒ compulsoryΒ schoolΒ curriculum,Β but alsoΒ to promote the all-roundΒ developmentΒ ofΒ students.Β TheΒ mainΒ objectivesΒ are to developΒ criticalΒ thinking, promoteΒ strategic planning,Β inculcate disciplineΒ andΒ promote youth sportsmanship.

The opening ceremony of this ambitious program will be graced by honored guests including H.E. Arkady Dvorkovich, President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President of the Asian Chess Federation. FIDE MD Β Dana Reizinece-Ozola, FIDE Development Director GM Dr. Nigel Short and Secretary FIDE Chess in Education(CIE)Β Comission(EDU) Β Rita Atkins will also attend.
In addition, the Federal Minister for Interprovincial Coordination, H.E. Fawad Hassan Fawad, Convener Steering Committee for promotion of Mind sports and Chief Patron CFP Mr. Jauhar Saleem, Β Federal Secretary IPC Β Mr. Nadeem Irshad KiyaniΒ , Special Secretary Education Mr. Mohyuddin Wani and other distinguished guests will attend the celebration of this monumental occasion.
