The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has raised serious concerns about the health and medical treatment of their founding chairman and former prime minister, Imran Khan. They have criticized the Adiala Jail authorities for allegedly denying medical facilities to Khan, who they claim is being unlawfully detained.
In a statement posted on social media, PTI questioned why Imran Khan is being denied his legal right to medical attention and necessary medical tests, including blood work. They accused the current regime, allegedly backed by the establishment, of persistently refusing medical care for Khan.
The party shared a copy of an application dated April 10, 2024, seeking the enforcement of a court order for a comprehensive medical examination and blood tests from Shaukat Khanum Hospital, as recommended by Dr. Asim Yousaf during a previous medical assessment.

PTI emphasized Khan’s decades-long service to the nation and highlighted the urgency of conducting the recommended blood tests. They expressed concerns that any delay in these tests could pose serious risks to Khan’s well-being, especially considering his confinement in connection with what they described as “fake and bogus cases” lodged by political opponents.
Furthermore, the application stated the necessity for an examination by an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist, Dr. Kashif Iqbal Malik, to address specific medical concerns. PTI requested the court to direct the jail superintendent to promptly arrange the collection of blood samples by Dr. Faisal Sultan of Shaukat Khanum Hospital and facilitate the ENT checkup by Dr. Kashif Iqbal Malik, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.
