Pakistan’s passport has been ranked 100th in the latest Henley Passport Index 2026, reflecting continued travel limitations for Pakistani citizens. The ranking places Pakistan among the lower-tier passports globally in terms of international mobility and travel access.
According to the latest index, Pakistani passport holders can travel to 30 destinations through Visa-Free entry or visa-on-arrival facilities. These destinations are spread across Asia, Africa, Oceania, and the Caribbean region.
Despite the low ranking, the available Visa-Free and visa-on-arrival destinations provide some travel opportunities for Pakistani travelers seeking easier entry requirements.
In Asia, Pakistanis can travel to countries including Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste without obtaining a prior visa. Several African nations also offer easier access, including Rwanda, Kenya, Seychelles, Senegal, Madagascar, Burundi, and Sierra Leone.
In the Caribbean and Americas region, Pakistani citizens can visit Barbados, Dominica, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Montserrat, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines through simplified visa policies.
Meanwhile, countries in Oceania such as Samoa, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Palau Islands, Micronesia, Niue, and Cook Islands are also included in the accessible destinations list.
The Henley Passport Index ranks passports based on the number of destinations their holders can enter without obtaining a visa beforehand. The report highlights major differences in global travel freedom between developed and developing nations.
Singapore secured the top position in the 2026 rankings with access to 192 destinations. Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates jointly held second place with access to 187 destinations.
Several European countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, remained among the strongest passports globally. These countries offer access to around 185 destinations.
In South Asia, Pakistan ranked below neighboring countries such as India and Bangladesh. India stood at 78th position with access to 56 destinations, while Bangladesh ranked 96th with 36 destinations.
The report also showed Afghanistan holding the world’s weakest passport at 103rd place, with access to only 23 destinations.
Experts believe Pakistan’s lower ranking reflects ongoing challenges in diplomatic agreements, international mobility arrangements, and global travel access. The index also underlines the growing gap in travel freedom between stronger and weaker passports worldwide.
