CCI Pakistan Celebrates World Water Week with 35th PAANI Plant Installation

In commemoration of World Water Week, CCI Pakistan (Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited) marked the occasion by inaugurating its 35th PAANI water filtration plant. The ceremony took place at the Rescue Headquarters in Lahore and was graced by the presence of Mr. Ahmet Kursad Ertin, Regional Director (SAME) – CCI Pakistan, and Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Secretary Emergency Services Department, among other distinguished guests. The event underscored CCI Pakistan’s commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project – PAANI, which focuses on providing clean drinking water to communities in need.

PAANI Project: Bridging the Gap for Clean Water Access

Under the PAANI initiative, CCI Pakistan has installed 35 water filtration plants throughout the country. These plants possess the remarkable capacity to produce over 2000 liters of clean drinking water per hour, collectively benefitting over one million people daily. The PAANI project has become a beacon of hope, addressing the critical issue of clean water access in underserved regions of Pakistan.

Mr. Ahmet Kursad Ertin’s Vision for Sustainable Water Management

During the ceremony, Mr. Ahmet Kursad Ertin, Regional Director (SAME) – CCI Pakistan, shared insights into CCI’s multifaceted approach to water management in Pakistan. He emphasized the company’s commitment to water efficiency, which includes reducing water usage through operational excellence programs. Additionally, CCI Pakistan has embarked on water replenishment projects in the Ravi Basin, aligning with its goal of achieving water neutrality. Furthermore, the company actively invests in community-based projects like PAANI to ensure clean drinking water availability in water-stressed areas, making a positive impact on local communities.

Rescue 1122’s Role and Dr. Rizwan Naseer’s Appreciation

Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Secretary Emergency Services Department, lauded CCI Pakistan and the World Wildlife Federation (WWF) for their dedication to installing water filtration plants in underserved communities. He highlighted the fundamental principle of Rescue 1122 in providing emergency care to citizens without discrimination, emphasizing the organization’s extensive efforts in rescuing victims and responding to fire emergencies. Dr. Naseer extended an offer to provide secure locations for PAANI water filtration plants at Rescue Stations, ensuring proper supervision and care by the dedicated Rescue staff.

The installation of the 35th PAANI plant by CCI Pakistan not only celebrates World Water Week but also signifies a steadfast commitment to addressing water-related challenges and fostering positive change within Pakistan’s communities. Through initiatives like PAANI, CCI Pakistan continues to make significant strides in improving access to clean drinking water and contributing to the well-being of the nation.
