A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck Islamabad and Rawalpindi late Saturday night, prompting residents to rush outdoors in fear.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the tremors were recorded at 10:48 pm, with the epicenter located 8 km southeast of Rawalpindi at a depth of 17 km.
The quake lasted several seconds, creating panic across the twin cities.
