A severe weather situation continues across Pakistan as authorities issue a fresh Heatwave Alert for Karachi and several regions of Sindh. The city is experiencing hot and humid conditions, making daily life uncomfortable for residents.
In Karachi, the weather remains extremely humid with rising temperatures. Although actual readings stay near 36°C, the “feels-like” temperature is around 37°C. High humidity is creating a heavy and muggy atmosphere across the metropolis.
The Met Office has confirmed that the Heatwave Alert will remain in place for the next three days. Officials expect continued hot and humid weather conditions in the city. Humidity levels may reach up to 65% during daytime hours.
Sea breezes and western winds may provide slight relief at times. However, most areas of the province are still expected to face hot to very hot and dry weather conditions. The overall situation remains uncomfortable for citizens.
The Heatwave Alert also covers central and upper Sindh regions, where temperatures are rising sharply. Districts including Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur are experiencing extreme heat.
In these areas, temperatures are expected to range between 47°C and 49°C. Weather experts warn that this level of heat can be dangerous for public health if precautions are not followed.
Authorities have advised people to stay indoors during peak sunlight hours. Citizens are also urged to drink plenty of water and avoid unnecessary outdoor movement. Special care is recommended for children, women, and elderly individuals.
The ongoing Heatwave Alert is expected to continue until at least May 11 in several parts of the province. Meteorologists say the heatwave conditions may persist if weather patterns remain unchanged.
Health experts also recommend wearing light clothing and avoiding direct sun exposure. They stress that preventive measures are essential to reduce heat-related risks during this intense weather period.
Overall, the Heatwave Alert highlights a serious weather situation affecting large parts of Sindh, with Karachi also experiencing uncomfortable and humid conditions.
