The Islamabad High Court has instructed the Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail to ensure that Imran Khan, founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is provided with all the facilities he is entitled to under the jail manual. This directive came during a hearing in response to a petition filed by Noreen Niazi, seeking better conditions for Imran Khan in jail.
During the session, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir questioned prison officials regarding the facilities provided to the PTI leader. The Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail assured the court that all required facilities were being provided, and family visits had resumed. However, Imran Khan’s lawyer, Shoaib Shaheen, argued that additional provisions, such as newspapers and communication with Khan’s sons, were still lacking. The court stressed the importance of providing all entitled facilities, including phone communication and access to newspapers.
