Three individuals were killed in Bajaur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, when an improvised explosive device detonated in the area.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bakht Munir, the casualties included former senator Hidayatullah. The blast targeted the vehicle of the former legislator in the Dama Dola locality of the tribal district.

Security forces have sealed off the area to gather evidence, and the deceased have been transported to a hospital.
Hidayatullah Khan was visiting Damadola in the PK-22 constituency to support his nephew’s electoral campaign when the attack occurred on his return journey. He was the son of former MNA Haji Bismillah Khan and ex-governor Shaukatullah, having served as a senator from 2012 to 2018 and again from 2018 to 2024. During his tenure, he contributed to Senate committees focusing on aviation and NACTA.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed profound sadness and condemned the terrorist attack that claimed Hidayatullah’s life and others. He conveyed his condolences to the families affected by the tragedy, as stated by the President Secretariat Press Wing. The president also offered prayers for the departed souls and urged the bereaved families to endure their loss with strength.
