Chinese automaker MG has announced a major price reduction for its Binguo EV in Pakistan, offering relief to buyers looking for affordable electric vehicles. The company has reduced the price of the electric hatchback by Rs. 300,000 to strengthen its position in Pakistan’s growing EV market.
After the latest revision, the price of the MG Binguo EV has dropped from Rs. 5,999,000 to Rs. 5,699,000. The move is expected to attract more urban buyers looking for lower fuel and maintenance costs.
The company also officially confirmed the price of the much-awaited MG4 EV Urban. The vehicle will now be available in Pakistan at an official price of Rs. 6,949,000, ending weeks of market speculation regarding its expected cost.
The latest announcement shows MG’s growing focus on expanding its electric vehicle lineup in Pakistan. With rising fuel prices and increasing interest in electric mobility, EVs are becoming more attractive for daily commuters and city-based drivers.
The Binguo EV is designed as a compact city hatchback. It comes with a 31.9 kWh LFP battery and offers a driving range of around 333 kilometers under standard testing conditions. The car is mainly targeted toward urban users seeking an affordable and practical electric vehicle.
On the other hand, the MG4 EV Urban belongs to the compact hatchback category and offers more advanced performance and features. It is equipped with a larger 53.9 kWh battery and provides a driving range of approximately 405 kilometers.
The MG4 EV Urban also delivers stronger power output, faster acceleration, and higher top speed compared to the Binguo EV. It includes modern features such as a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, advanced driver assistance systems, and high safety ratings.
Industry experts believe the reduced pricing strategy could increase competition in Pakistan’s small EV market. The latest price cut may also encourage more consumers to switch from petrol vehicles to electric alternatives.
Electric vehicles are gaining popularity in Pakistan due to increasing fuel costs and growing environmental concerns. However, charging infrastructure remains one of the biggest challenges for EV adoption in the country.
Despite these issues, analysts say demand for EVs is steadily increasing, especially in major cities where daily travel distances are shorter. More affordable pricing and better product availability are expected to support this trend further.
