The University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir has introduced a modest dress code, prohibiting jeans and T-shirts for students and staff.
A circular from the university mandates that attire should align with local cultural and religious values, aiming to foster discipline and respect rather than impose strictness.

Female students are required to wear Shalwar Qameez with a dupatta or gown, while male students and staff must opt for casual pants and shirts or Shalwar Qameez.
The new dress code prohibits tight or see-through clothing, shorts, sleeveless shirts, and T-shirts with provocative language, as well as excessive makeup and jewelry. It also stipulates that hairstyles should be modest and unobtrusive.
Non-compliance with these guidelines may result in disciplinary action.
