Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed swift action against rioters in Islamabad, warning that attempts to destabilize Pakistan’s economy will face strict measures. Speaking at a high-level security meeting, he emphasized the need to avoid arresting innocent civilians during the crackdown.

Sharif ordered the identification of rioters with concrete evidence and the allocation of resources to a task force addressing the unrest. He also instructed the Ministry of Law to integrate the Federal Prosecution Service and fast-track the construction of a new jail in Islamabad, set for completion by March next year.
Plans to expand the Safe City initiative with enhanced surveillance were also discussed, with authorities updating Sharif on progress.
