ISLAMABAD: Pakistan continues to face a severe heatwave as the Temperatur in several cities crossed dangerous levels on June 30, 2026. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that feels-like Temperatur exceeded 50°C in six major cities.
According to PMD’s 2:00 PM observations, Sargodha recorded the highest heat index at 54.3°C. This placed the city in the “Extreme Danger” category, where heat stroke risks are very high.
Sukkur reported the second-highest Temperatur at 52.7°C. Faisalabad followed with 51.6°C. Dadu recorded 50.4°C, while Peshawar reached 50.3°C. Islamabad also faced extreme heat with a feels-like Temperatur of 50.1°C.
Lahore remained under severe weather conditions as the feels-like Temperatur touched 49.5°C. Sialkot recorded 48.0°C, while Multan reached 47.9°C. Karachi experienced relatively lower but still uncomfortable heat at 40.6°C.
The PMD said the ongoing heatwave is affecting many parts of the country. Weather experts warned that high humidity and low wind speeds are making the conditions worse.
Health experts have advised people to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours. They said unnecessary outdoor activities should be avoided to reduce the risk of heat exhaustion.
The PMD also urged citizens to drink plenty of water and wear light clothing. People have been asked to stay alert for symptoms of heat-related illnesses such as dizziness, weakness, and dehydration.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as the heatwave continues. Emergency services have been advised to remain on alert in affected areas.
The extreme Temperatur levels are expected to continue in the coming days. Meteorologists say relief may only come if weather patterns change or rainfall arrives in some regions.
