US–Iran Talks End Without Breakthrough, Pakistan Pushes for Continued Dialogue

ISLAMABAD – The latest round of US–Iran Talks ended without a clear agreement after nearly 21 hours of negotiations. Despite the outcome, Pakistan remains hopeful about future progress.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said Islamabad will continue its mediation efforts. He described the dialogue as an important step toward regional peace and stability. According to him, the process is not over, and both sides should stay engaged.

The US–Iran Talks brought senior officials from both countries to Islamabad. Delegations held extended discussions behind closed doors. These talks were described as difficult but constructive by Pakistani officials.

Dar said Pakistan played a key role in facilitating the negotiations. He, along with military leadership, including Army Chief Asim Munir, supported multiple rounds of dialogue. Their aim was to reduce differences between Washington and Tehran.

Although no agreement was reached, the tone of the US–Iran Talks was not entirely negative. Dar noted that both sides showed willingness to continue discussions. He stressed that ongoing engagement is essential for long-term peace.

Pakistan also urged both countries to maintain their commitment to a ceasefire. Dar emphasized the need for patience and steady diplomatic efforts. He said lasting solutions require time and trust from both sides.

The discussions covered several key issues. These included regional tensions, security concerns, and broader political differences. However, major disagreements remained unresolved at the end of the talks.

Dar thanked both the United States and Iran for participating in the negotiations. He said their willingness to engage reflects a shared interest in reducing tensions. He also highlighted that both sides acknowledged Pakistan’s mediation role.

This recognition is seen as a positive sign for Pakistan’s diplomatic standing. Islamabad views itself as a bridge between the two countries in a tense global environment.

The outcome of the US–Iran Talks shows that challenges remain. However, Pakistan believes dialogue must continue. Officials say future rounds of talks could help build trust and lead to progress.
