Light rain, with light snowfall over the mountains, is expected in Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan on January 13th, 16th, and 17th. Rainfed areas may experience water stress, and the public is advised to use water judiciously. Due to foggy conditions, daytime temperatures in plain areas may remain 4 to 6 degrees Celsius below normal.
Farmers are advised to manage crops and keep livestock in warm places. Travelers should exercise caution during foggy days. The Met Department also emphasized that rumors on social media about snowfall in the plains of Punjab are baseless, urging the public to ignore fake news.
