ICC Announces Slight Increase in Share Amount for Pakistan Cricketers’ Contracts

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finally revealed the central contracts for national cricketers after a significant delay. However, notable players such as Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, and Sarfaraz Ahmed were not included in this announcement. Although contracts were not signed before the team's departure to Australia, the PCB intends to obtain approvals via email.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finally revealed the central contracts for national cricketers after a significant delay. However, notable players such as Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, and Sarfaraz Ahmed were not included in this announcement. Although contracts were not signed before the team’s departure to Australia, the PCB intends to obtain approvals via email.

The newly announced contracts maintain the existing match fees and monthly salaries but feature a modest increase in the ICC share amount, following a previously established formula. Test match players will receive Rs1,257,795, while ODI players will earn Rs644,620 and T20I players will get Rs418,584 for their participation.

In Category A, both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan will receive a monthly contract fee of Rs4.5 million. The ICC share, which constitutes 3% of the 2024-25 ICC revenue, has risen to Rs2.07 million per month, up from Rs1.53 million. This results in a total monthly earning of Rs6.57 million for these top players.

For Category B, cricketers like Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Shan Masood will earn a monthly salary of Rs3 million, which includes an ICC share of Rs1.552 million, increasing from Rs1.147 million, totaling Rs4.552 million monthly. Category C players, including Abdullah Shafique and Haris Rauf, will receive Rs1 million monthly, alongside an ICC share of Rs1.035 million, rising from Rs765,000, making their total Rs2.035 million.

Lastly, Category D players, which include Aamir Jamal and Kamran Ghulam, will earn a monthly salary of Rs750,000, with the ICC share amounting to Rs517,500, up from Rs382,500, resulting in a monthly total of Rs1.267 million. Central contract players also enjoy substantial compensation for domestic matches, receiving Rs628,898 for a four-day match, Rs322,310 for an ODI, and Rs209,292 for a T20 match.
