Pakistan’s national cricket team has earned widespread praise for their historic One-Day International (ODI) series win over Australia, marking the end of a 22-year wait for an ODI series victory on Australian soil. The series triumph has sparked celebrations across the country, with leaders from various sectors extending their congratulations.
President Asif Ali Zardari hailed the team’s performance as a significant achievement, praising their exceptional effort in securing the win. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif echoed these sentiments, calling it a moment of immense national pride and acknowledging the hard work and determination of the players.

Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, also lauded the team’s remarkable victory, attributing their success to excellent fielding, bowling, and batting. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf were key figures in Pakistan’s dominant bowling performance, restricting Australia to a modest total of 140 runs.
With a solid partnership between Abdullah Shafiq and Saim Ayub, followed by contributions from Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan successfully chased down the target, winning by 8 wickets. The victory, which came in just 27 overs, demonstrated the team’s unity and discipline, making the nation proud.
