Australian cricketer David Warner has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the quickest player to reach 1,000 runs in Cricket World Cups, achieving this feat in just 19 innings.
In the 2023 edition of the Cricket World Cup, Warner crossed the 1,000-run mark while contributing 41 runs to Australia’s total in their opening match. Unfortunately, his efforts couldn’t secure a win for Australia against India.
This achievement now places Warner ahead of cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar from India and former South Africa captain AB de Villiers, both of whom took 20 innings to reach the 1,000-run mark in Cricket World Cups.

It’s worth noting that Tendulkar still holds the record for the highest run total in Cricket World Cup history, amassing a staggering 2,278 runs in 45 matches across six World Cup tournaments from 1992 to 2011.
David Warner’s exceptional performance in the last three Cricket World Cups, dating back to 2015, has brought his total runs in the tournament to 1,033.
Looking ahead, Indian opener Rohit Sharma has the opportunity to equal Warner’s record when India faces Afghanistan on October 11th. Currently, Sharma is just 22 runs short of reaching 1,000 runs from 18 innings in Cricket World Cups.
In the recent victory over Australia, Sharma had an unfortunate outing, being dismissed for a duck by Josh Hazlewood. Cricket fans worldwide will be eagerly watching to see if he can achieve this milestone in the upcoming matches.
