Dinesh Karthik Lauds Pakistan’s ‘Potent’ Pace Attack, Prefers Facing India’s Pacers on Flat Wickets

Indian cricketer-turned-commentator Dinesh Karthik has heaped praise on Pakistan’s formidable pace trio – Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah – for consistently bowling at speeds exceeding 90 miles per hour. In a candid assessment, Karthik revealed that he would feel more comfortable facing India’s pace bowlers – Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammad Shami – on flat wickets due to the bounce generated by the Pakistani pacers.

Karthik highlighted the unique strengths of each Pakistan fast bowler, describing Shaheen Shah as a left-armer with an angle that brings the ball back in, Naseem Shah as a bowler who swings the ball both ways, and Haris Rauf as one of the best bowlers in the death overs, known for his skidding deliveries and nasty bouncers.

This discussion comes on the heels of a historic moment in the Asia Cup ODI, where Pakistan’s pacers took all 10 wickets in a single match against India in Kandy. While the match ended without a result due to heavy rain, the Pakistan trio’s feat made cricket history.

Karthik’s preference for facing the Pakistani trio on flat wickets underscores the challenge posed by their bounce and variations. He acknowledged the equalizing factor of pitch conditions but expressed confidence in handling the Indian pace attack under such circumstances.

In the Asia Cup, Pakistan and India received 3 and 1 points, respectively, following the match’s abandonment, with Pakistan advancing to the super four stage.
