Tottenham Hotspur showed strong interest in signing Manchester City winger Savinho. But the transfer has been blocked. The winger will now remain at Manchester City, as the club sees him as an important player for the future.
Tottenham made approaches worth around £43 million. They hoped to secure the Brazilian as a key addition for their new project. However, Manchester City rejected those bids. The club wanted a much higher figure and considered the offers far below his true value.
The decision was not only financial. Senior figures at the club stepped in to stop the move. They did not want to lose another rising talent after already selling Cole Palmer. For Manchester City, keeping Savinho was about protecting the squad’s depth and potential.
Some insiders dismissed the suggested fee as far too low, calling it “nonsense.” They believe Savinho is already worth much more and could grow into one of the most exciting wingers in the league.
Pep Guardiola also made his stance clear. He praised Savinho and confirmed the player will remain in his plans this season. According to him, only an “unbelievable” offer could force the club to think about selling. Manchester City are not under pressure to sell and view the Brazilian as part of their long-term vision.
The current squad at Manchester City is already very large. Guardiola admitted that managing so many players is not easy. Still, the club is unwilling to lose Savinho because they believe his development is crucial.
Tottenham are now expected to look at other options. With Manchester City’s strong position, a deal for Savinho looks unlikely. The winger’s future, at least for now, is firmly tied to the Etihad.
