Pakistan's Path to Asia Cup 2023 Final

The Asia Cup 2023 has reached an intriguing stage, with India securing their place in the final after winning their first two Super 4s matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

India registered a commanding 228-run victory against Pakistan and followed it up with a 41-run win over Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh’s hopes of making it to the final were dashed after they suffered a seven-wicket defeat to Pakistan and a 21-run loss to Sri Lanka. With India already in the final and Bangladesh out of contention, the final spot will be determined by the outcome of the last Super 4s match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka scheduled for September 14.

However, the ongoing rainy season in Sri Lanka, particularly in Colombo, adds an element of uncertainty to the final qualification scenario. If the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is washed out due to rain, Sri Lanka will qualify for the final based on their superior net run rate.

Pakistan faces a significant setback before the crucial match, as three of their players, including key pacers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, have been ruled out due to injuries sustained in the previous game.
