Syed Amin-ul-Haque, Minister of Information Technology, stated that the IT Ministry will train 100,000 AI graduates in collaboration with academia and another 50,000 in collaboration with the IT industry.

Following a surge in global interest in the AI industry, Syed Amin-ul-Hauqe, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, announced that the Ministry of IT and Telecom (MoIT&T) will now train 150,000 AI experts over the next five years.

In addition, the IT Minister stated that 100,000 AI graduates will be trained in collaboration with academia, while the remaining 50,000 AI graduates will be trained with the assistance of the IT industry.

IT Minister Amin-ul-Hauqe believes that projects of national interest like these will prepare Pakistan for the challenges that AI technology will bring.

In addition, the minister stated that in a few years, Pakistan will have a lot of job opportunities in the field of AI and that many local industries will use modern technology to improve and speed up their workflow. He also stated that bringing in new AI talent will attract both domestic and international investment into the country while also allowing for the proper and ethical use of AI technology in the country.

The federal minister then stated that the government’s goal is to create a trusting environment in which AI technology can be developed and implemented locally.

The federal minister stated that the global AI market is expected to reach $1 trillion by 2030 and that Pakistan should strive to gain a share of this industry.

Towards the end of his speech, Haque stated that the IT Ministry is currently forming a policy committee comprised of AI experts to work on developing the most recent requirements and challenges in the AI industry.
