A Ukrainian drone attack overnight reportedly destroyed an ammunition depot in Russia’s Tver region, according to a source from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU). The targeted warehouse in Toropets, operated by Russia’s defense ministry, stored Iskander and Tochka-U tactical missile systems, guided bombs, and artillery ammunition, resulting in a massive explosion.
Local air defenses intercepted some drones, but large fires broke out, leading to partial evacuations ordered by Tver Governor Igor Rudenya. Seismologists detected seismic signals from the explosion, measuring 2.5 to 2.8 magnitude, suggesting the blast had significant impact.

Satellite images revealed extensive damage to depot buildings and surrounding areas. Videos circulating online confirmed loud detonations and fires within the complex. Russian news agency TASS mentioned a drone attack causing a fire, though it did not specify a weapons facility.
Ukraine has indicated that such attacks aim to methodically reduce Russia’s missile capabilities, with further similar strikes planned. No civilian injuries were reported, and evacuations are ongoing as emergency services work to control the fires.
