Iran Continues Strikes as US and Israel Expand Military Campaign in the Middle East

Dubai/Tehran – Iran has intensified its military operations in the Gulf region, targeting Israeli and American assets amid escalating tensions. The country’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed attacks on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office and Israeli Air Force headquarters.

Earlier, several US warplanes crashed in Kuwait, the Kuwaiti defence ministry said. All crew members survived, and authorities launched immediate search and rescue operations. The crews were transported to hospitals for evaluation, and their condition is stable.

Iran also reported targeting the US Ali Al Salem base in Kuwait and naval vessels in the northern Indian Ocean. The attacks come in retaliation for recent US and Israeli strikes on Iranian sites, including its nuclear facility in Natanz. The strikes have killed several personnel, including five soldiers in central Iran, according to local reports.

Israel responded by carrying out airstrikes on Tehran and expanded its campaign to Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, a key ally of Iran. More than a dozen explosions were reported in Beirut, targeting Hezbollah-controlled areas and senior militants. Air raid sirens were triggered across Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, warning of missile attacks from Iran.

The conflict has caused widespread disruption across the Middle East. Airports, including Dubai, were temporarily closed, impacting global air travel. Shipping in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz has been affected, with oil tankers forced to anchor, leading to spikes in crude oil prices.

US President Donald Trump confirmed that the military campaign against Iran could continue for weeks. He stated that American and allied forces have struck over 1,000 Iranian targets so far. Trump urged Iranian forces to surrender and called on the Iranian people to resist the government, while acknowledging casualties among US troops.

Meanwhile, Iran faces a leadership vacuum following the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. President Masoud Pezeshkian and a temporary council have assumed leadership duties, but uncertainty remains over the country’s future governance.
