After nearly three weeks of March holidays, students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are preparing to return as School Classes resume on April 1, Wednesday. All educational institutions in the region are reopening for physical learning.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government announced a new timetable for schools, which will change the daily routine of students. Primary schools will now open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 1:35 p.m.
The revised schedule includes more than academic sessions. School assemblies are now mandatory and will focus on moral training, student speeches, and interactive activities. Officials say this aims to instill strong ethical values from an early age.
In addition, all schools must hold weekly “Bazm-e-Adab” (literary sessions) on the last working day of each week. The final three periods on that day will be reserved for staff meetings and completing school registers, ensuring smooth administrative operations.
To address teacher shortages, the notification instructs school heads and subject specialists to take over classes during absences or long-term leave. This ensures that students’ learning continues without disruption.
District Education Officers have been tasked with enforcing full compliance with the new timetable. Authorities emphasized that discipline, moral education, and cultural enrichment are key priorities of the updated schedule.
Officials also highlighted the importance of School Classes in shaping students’ character, alongside academic achievements. By combining moral lessons, literary activities, and interactive sessions, schools aim to create a well-rounded learning environment.
Parents are advised to prepare students for early arrival times and longer school days. Students are encouraged to participate actively in assemblies and literary sessions.
The government says this initiative will strengthen education quality across KP’s public schools. It also marks a renewed focus on discipline and cultural development alongside academics.
With the reopening, all students and staff are expected to follow the new rules and timetable strictly. The start of School Classes under the new schedule is seen as a step toward holistic education for young learners.
Schools are also working to ensure safety and smooth transitions as students return to classrooms after the March holidays.
