Faisal Vawda Demands Ishaq Dar’s Resignation Over Lahore Foreign Women Case

Faisal Vawda Demands Ishaq Dar’s Resignation Over Lahore Foreign Women Case

ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Vawda has called for the immediate resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar following allegations linked to a case involving two foreign women in Lahore.

In a post shared on X, Faisal Vawda claimed that a close relative of Ishaq Dar had been arrested in connection with accusations involving the two foreign nationals. He further alleged that authorities were trying to limit the scope of the investigation by focusing only on extortion instead of examining other serious allegations.

The senator also claimed that efforts were being made to send the two foreign women back to their home countries quickly. However, he did not present any evidence to support these allegations in his public statement.

Faisal Vawda questioned why the statements of the alleged victims, reportedly recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code, had not been made public. He also alleged that attempts were being made to influence medical reports connected to the investigation. These claims have not been officially confirmed by the authorities.

The senator strongly criticized both the government and the opposition over their response to the matter. He alleged that political parties and senior leaders had remained silent despite often presenting themselves as supporters of women’s rights and justice.

According to Vawda, the controversy has harmed Pakistan’s international image. He described the allegations as a matter of national concern and said the issue should be investigated without any political influence.

Calling for accountability, Faisal Vawda urged Ishaq Dar to step down from his positions as deputy prime minister and foreign minister until the investigation is completed. He argued that such a step would help ensure transparency and protect public confidence in the inquiry.

The controversy follows an incident in Lahore involving two foreign women that led to a police investigation. Authorities have confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with the case. However, officials have not publicly verified the specific allegations raised by Vawda.

The investigation remains ongoing, and law enforcement agencies have not released further details regarding the claims circulating on social media. No official statement has confirmed attempts to suppress evidence or influence the investigation.

Government officials have also not responded publicly to Vawda’s demand for Ishaq Dar’s resignation at the time of reporting.
