GAZA CITY โ Violence continues in Gaza despite an ongoing ceasefire, as fresh Israeli strikes killed at least 10 people in the northern region on Tuesday. A toddler was among the victims, according to local officials.
The civil defence agency in Gaza said the incidents took place in separate attacks. It reported that four people, including a young child, were killed in one strike targeting a police vehicle in Gaza City. Several others were also injured in the same incident.
Officials identified the child as three-year-old Yahya al-Mallahi. The bodies were later confirmed by Gaza Cityโs Al-Shifa hospital, which received the deceased for identification and medical procedures.
The Gaza interior ministry stated that Israeli warplanes struck a police vehicle in the city centre. The attack resulted in multiple casualties, including both deaths and injuries.
In another incident, one person was killed in the Beit Lahia area in northern Gaza earlier on Tuesday. Eyewitnesses reported ongoing fear among residents as strikes continued in nearby locations.
Footage from Gaza showed civilians gathering around a body before it was taken for burial. Streets were heavily damaged, with rubble visible across several neighborhoods.
Later in the day, the civil defence agency in Gaza reported another deadly strike. This attack occurred near an intersection in the Al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City. Several people were killed in the incident.
Al-Shifa hospital confirmed receiving five bodies following the bombing in Al-Shati. Medical teams continue to struggle with limited resources due to ongoing conflict conditions in Gaza.
The Israeli military has not yet issued a detailed response regarding the latest strikes. Officials said they are reviewing the reported incidents.
The current ceasefire began on October 10 after more than two years of conflict. However, violence in Gaza has continued despite the agreement.
According to Gazaโs health ministry, at least 757 people have been killed since the ceasefire began. The figures are considered credible by the United Nations.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army reported that five of its soldiers have been killed during the same period. Access restrictions in Gaza have made independent verification of casualty figures difficult.
