Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has issued an important update for women enrolled in the Benazir Kafaalat Programme. The government has extended the deadline for collecting free BISP mobile SIMs until June 30 to help more beneficiaries complete the transition to digital payments.
The initiative is being implemented under the special guidance of President Asif Ali Zardari and in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of promoting a cashless economy in Pakistan.
According to the latest announcement, future installments under the Benazir Kafaalat Programme will be paid only through digital wallet accounts linked to official BISP mobile SIMs. The move aims to make payments faster, more secure, and more transparent for beneficiaries across the country.
Officials said the deadline extension was introduced to facilitate eligible women who have not yet received their free BISP SIM. Previously, the last date was June 15. Beneficiaries can now collect their SIMs free of cost until June 30 from their nearest BISP office.
Women who have not yet completed the process are advised to visit their local BISP center with their original CNIC and personal mobile phone. The SIM will be issued without any charge to eligible beneficiaries.
After receiving the SIM, beneficiaries must wait for three days before visiting the nearest retailer of their designated bank. At the retailer’s location, they can activate their digital wallet account. Once activated, future financial assistance payments will be transferred directly to the wallet.
The authorities have also urged women who already possess a BISP SIM but have not activated their digital wallet to complete the activation process immediately. This will ensure that future installments are received without interruption.
Under the new system, beneficiaries who activate their wallets will be able to withdraw their funds through authorized banking representatives and agents. This is expected to reduce long queues, waiting periods, and travel difficulties often faced during traditional payment distributions.
The digital payment model is part of broader efforts to increase financial inclusion and empower women economically. Officials believe direct wallet payments will give beneficiaries greater control over their funds while improving efficiency within the welfare system.
The program has emphasized that women should complete all required steps before June 30 to avoid delays in receiving future payments. The extension provides additional time for beneficiaries to collect SIMs, activate wallets, and become part of the new digital payment system.
With the introduction of digital wallets, BISP aims to provide a more convenient and secure payment experience. The initiative reflects the program’s commitment to empowering women and ensuring easier access to financial assistance across Pakistan.

The message from BISP is clear: no long queues, no unnecessary waiting, and greater financial independence for women. The goal is to help every beneficiary become more empowered and self-reliant through modern digital payment solutions.
