US President Trump has revealed a rendering of a new limited-edition US passport to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary of independence. The commemorative document features his portrait and is part of the America250 celebrations.
On Friday, Trump shared the passport design on his Truth Social platform. Alongside the image, he wrote, “The U.S.A.’s New Passport, which says, ‘Welcome, but be good!’”
The passport design shows a serious-looking Trump leaning on his desk with his signature displayed below the portrait. The background includes the text of the Declaration of Independence. The image appears to be based on an official portrait taken by White House photographer Daniel Torok.
The opposite page features a historic painting of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. It also includes the words “United States of America 250,” marking the nation’s upcoming milestone anniversary.
The White House also shared the same passport rendering on its official social media channels. The commemorative document was introduced with the title “PATRIOT PASSPORT.”
Earlier, the US State Department announced plans to release a special commemorative passport with custom artwork beginning July 6. However, the department did not immediately comment after the passport design was unveiled by the president.
In April, a State Department official said the limited-edition passport would only be available through in-person appointments in Washington. The official also noted that the passports would be offered only while supplies last.
The commemorative passport is part of a broader effort to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence. It is expected to attract interest from collectors and supporters looking for a unique keepsake tied to the historic occasion.
The unveiling also reflects Trump’s continued efforts to leave a personal mark on government institutions. During his current administration, banners featuring the president have appeared outside several government buildings.
The US Treasury Department has also announced plans for Trump’s signature to appear on the one-dollar bill in the future. In another move, Trump previously added his name to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. However, a court later ruled that the name should be removed.

If released as planned, the commemorative passport will make Trump the first sitting US president to appear in an American travel document. The development has drawn significant public attention as the United States prepares for its 250th Independence Day celebrations.
