Three NADRA officials Arrested in Alleged Fake identity Card Case in Chakwal

Three NADRA officials Arrested in Alleged Fake identity Card Case in Chakwal

Three NADRA officials have been arrested in connection with an alleged fake Pakistani identity card case in Chakwal. The arrests were made during an investigation conducted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad.

The case involves the alleged issuance of a fraudulent Pakistani identity card to an Afghan national. Authorities said the investigation is continuing and more evidence is being examined.

According to the FIA, the arrested NADRA officials include Assistant Director Shahzad Muhammad Naseem, Senior Executive Raja Taimoor and Intelligence Officer Sajid Mahmood.

The three suspects were taken into custody after the Special Judge Central Islamabad rejected their pre-arrest bail applications. Following the court’s decision, FIA officials proceeded with the arrests.

Investigators believe the case is linked to the alleged unlawful issuance of official identity documents. The FIA has not disclosed further details regarding the investigation at this stage.

Officials said the inquiry is focused on determining how the alleged fake identity card was processed and whether any procedures were violated during its issuance.

The Afghan national named in the case has already been arrested. According to the FIA, the suspect was identified as Muhammad Amin.

Authorities said Muhammad Amin is currently being held at Adiala Jail. His post-arrest bail application has also been rejected by the court.

The FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad is continuing to investigate the matter. Investigators are reviewing documents and other evidence connected to the alleged identity card.

Officials have not ruled out the possibility of further action if additional evidence emerges during the investigation.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to prevent the misuse of Pakistan’s identity registration system.

Authorities have repeatedly stated that fraudulent identity documents pose risks to national security and public administration. They say strict legal action is taken whenever such cases are detected.

The National Database and Registration Authority is responsible for maintaining Pakistan’s citizen database and issuing computerized national identity cards.

The agency works closely with law enforcement institutions whenever allegations of document fraud or identity misuse arise.

The arrest of the NADRA officials follows legal proceedings in Islamabad, where the court reviewed the requests for pre-arrest bail before allowing investigators to proceed.

The FIA has not released information about possible charges beyond those already included in the investigation. Officials also have not commented on whether more suspects could be questioned.

Legal experts say investigations involving identity fraud often require detailed examination of official records and digital documentation before final conclusions are reached.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid obtaining identity documents through illegal means. They warned that both applicants and anyone involved in fraudulent processing may face legal consequences.

The FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad said the investigation remains active. Officials added that all aspects of the case will be examined according to the law before further action is taken.

As the inquiry continues, the arrest of the NADRA officials marks an important development in the alleged fake identity card case, while investigators work to establish the complete facts surrounding the matter.
