A resident of Muzaffargarh has claimed that he received 105 traffic challans worth Rs210,000 for a motorcycle he says he sold nearly two years ago. The unusual case has prompted a police investigation after the man alleged that the vehicle was registered in his name without his knowledge.
According to the complainant, he sold the unregistered motorcycle to a local showroom in December 2024. He said he believed the matter had been completed at the time of the sale and had no further connection with the vehicle.
The Muzaffargarh resident alleged that the showroom owner later registered the motorcycle in his name without informing him. He claimed the registration was carried out in collusion with others and without his consent.
The man said he remained unaware of the registration until he started receiving traffic fines. He was surprised to learn that the motorcycle had accumulated a large number of challans despite no longer being in his possession.
According to his complaint, the motorcycle received 105 traffic challans between August 2025 and the present. Every challan was reportedly issued for riding without wearing a helmet. The total amount of the fines reached Rs210,000.
The complainant stated that he never used the motorcycle after selling it. He maintained that he should not be held responsible for violations committed by someone else. He also questioned how the vehicle could be registered in his name without his approval.
Following the incident, the Muzaffargarh resident filed a formal complaint against the showroom owner. He has accused the owner of illegally registering the motorcycle in his name and requested legal action against those involved.
Police confirmed they have received the complaint and started an investigation into the matter. Officials said they will examine the vehicle’s registration records and verify how the ownership details were entered into the system.
Investigators are also expected to review the documents related to the motorcycle’s sale. They will determine whether any irregularities occurred during the registration process and identify those responsible if any wrongdoing is found.
The case has raised concerns about vehicle registration procedures and ownership verification. It also highlights the importance of completing proper transfer documents when selling a vehicle to avoid future legal or financial issues.
