‘No Place to Hide For Militants and We Will Hunt You Down, ISPR Chief Warns Terrorists

The ISPR has shared important details about the recent security situation in Balochistan following a series of terrorist attacks across the province. Director General Inter-Services Public Relations, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, addressed the media and explained the background of the ongoing military operations. He said the briefing aimed to provide factual information about the attacks and the response of Pakistan’s security forces.

According to the ISPR, the latest operation in Balochistan began after intelligence reports identified the presence of heavily armed militants between Jhao Cross and Kararo on the N-25 highway. The suspects were allegedly blocking the road, threatening travelers, and collecting money from commuters and local residents. Security forces launched an operation after confirming the militant activity in the area.

The ISPR chief said three major terrorist incidents took place in Balochistan during the past four days. He stressed that security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorist threats wherever they emerge. He also warned militant groups that Pakistan’s forces would continue pursuing them across the country.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry provided a timeline of the recent attacks. The first incident occurred during the night of July 4 and 5 in Hanna Urak. Militants reportedly targeted innocent civilians in the area. Local residents resisted the attackers despite the surprise assault. The resistance forced the militants to retreat. The attack resulted in the deaths of four civilians, while six others suffered injuries.

The second incident involved a coordinated attack on a police checkpoint responsible for protecting Pumping Station No. 3 of Mangi Dam in Ziarat. Militants launched the assault from multiple directions. Police officers defended their position despite facing heavy gunfire. During the exchange, security personnel reportedly killed 15 militants. However, nine police officers lost their lives while performing their duties.

The ISPR chief said reinforcements from the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps were immediately dispatched to the area. Before additional troops reached the checkpoint, the attackers allegedly took the surviving police personnel hostage. When security forces arrived, they recovered the bodies of at least 15 militants. Lt Gen Chaudhry noted that the police officers who were martyred were all local residents serving their communities.

Following the attack, the Frontier Corps, Pakistan Army, and other law enforcement agencies launched a large-scale operation in the mountainous areas of Ziarat. Lt Gen Chaudhry explained that airpower was intentionally not used during the operation. The decision was made to protect the hostages and reduce the risk of civilian casualties. The clearance operation has continued since July 6.

Earlier this week, terrorists attacked the police post in Ziarat district, killing nine police personnel, including two station house officers (SHOs). Security forces later carried out a clearance operation in which 15 militants were reportedly killed.
