The PMD has forecast rain with wind and thundershowers in several parts of Pakistan from Monday evening through Tuesday. The weather system is expected to affect Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, eastern Sindh, and Gilgit Baltistan.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, hot and humid weather will continue in most parts of the country despite the arrival of the new weather system. Temperatures are expected to remain high in many areas where rain is not expected.
The PMD has warned that some regions may experience heavy rainfall during this period. The department said intense rain could increase the risk of landslides in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir.
Officials also warned that flash flooding may occur in local streams and nullahs in these vulnerable areas. Residents living near rivers, streams, and hilly regions have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
The weather forecast shows that rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is likely in several districts across the affected provinces. Local authorities may continue monitoring the situation if rainfall intensity increases.
During the last 24 hours, several parts of the country received rain with wind and thundershowers. The rainfall was mainly reported in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barkhan in Balochistan, and Gilgit Baltistan.
According to official weather data, Okara recorded the highest rainfall in the country. The city received 29 millimeters of rain during the reporting period.
Narowal recorded the second-highest rainfall with 23 millimeters, while Sahiwal received 19 millimeters. These areas experienced rain along with gusty winds and cloudy conditions.
Other cities also received rainfall during the same period. Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Gilgit, and Skardu were among the areas that recorded rain and thunderstorms.
The PMD said weather conditions could continue to change as the system moves across northern and eastern parts of the country. Authorities are closely monitoring the developing weather pattern.
People planning to travel to mountainous areas are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts. Heavy rainfall can increase the risk of landslides and make roads dangerous in hilly regions.
Farmers, travelers, and local residents have also been encouraged to remain informed about weather updates. Taking precautionary measures can help reduce risks during periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
