Apple has launched its latest flagship smartphone lineup, but Pakistani buyers may face much higher prices.
The new iPhone 18 series comes with increased global pricing for its Pro models. Local PTA charges could push the final cost even higher.
Apple has raised the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro by $100. The Pro Max model has also received a $100 increase.
The 256GB iPhone 18 Pro now starts at $1,199. Meanwhile, the 256GB Pro Max starts at $1,299 in the United States.
Based on current exchange rates, these prices equal around Rs332,000 and Rs360,000. However, these figures do not include Pakistani taxes and duties.
PTA registration charges could add a significant amount to the final price. High-end imported smartphones can face registration costs approaching Rs250,000.
This could take the estimated iPhone 18 Pro price to around Rs582,000. The Pro Max could reach approximately Rs610,000 after PTA registration.
As a result, Pakistani consumers may need more than Rs600,000 for the latest Pro Max model.
iPhone 18 Pricing Takes a Sharp Turn
Apple announced the new lineup during its latest product event. The $100 price increase had already been expected before the launch.
However, some analysts had predicted an even larger increase. The actual rise was therefore lower than some earlier forecasts.
Apple is not the only smartphone company raising prices. Samsung has also increased prices for its latest foldable devices.
Google has made similar adjustments to its Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro pricing. These changes indicate rising costs across the premium smartphone market.

iPhone 18 Pro Models Set for Global Sales
Apple plans to open preorders for the iPhone 18 Pro models on September 12. Official sales are scheduled to begin on September 18.
The Pro and Pro Max models are positioned as Apple’s premium flagship options. Their higher starting prices could affect expected retail prices in Pakistan.
The final local price may vary depending on exchange rates, taxes and seller margins. PTA registration costs can also differ based on the applicable valuation.
For Pakistani consumers, the combined impact could be substantial. The estimated figures suggest the Pro Max may enter the six-lakh-rupee range.
