Punjab government has established new scooter driving schools and Gen Z counters for young students.
The initiative will support students applying for the Chief Minister’s E-Bike Scheme. It aims to simplify driving training and licensing services.
The facilities will be available to both male and female students across designated locations.
10 Scooter Driving Schools Established
Authorities have established five scooter driving training schools for male students. Another five training schools have been established specifically for female students.
The new facilities aim to make scooter-riding training more accessible for young people.
Gen Z counters have also been established at licensing centres. These counters will provide dedicated services to young applicants.
The initiative is expected to help students complete licensing requirements more conveniently.
Documents Required for Scooter Driving Licence
Students seeking a scooter driving licence have been advised to bring the required documents.
Applicants should carry their CNIC or B-Form when visiting the relevant licensing centre. They should also bring their guardian.
These services are expected to support young applicants participating in the E-Bike Scheme. According to traffic police figures, more than 172,000 motorcycle driving licences have been issued so far.
Authorities have also issued 6,546 juvenile permits.
New Scooter Schools in Lahore
Several locations have been selected for scooter driving training. Facilities are available at Abshar Driving School and Liberty Khidmat Markaz.
A scooter training facility has also been established at Greater Iqbal Park. Other locations include Traffic Police Lines Manawan and LOS Ferozepur Road.
These facilities will provide students with practical training before they begin driving independently.
Free Scooter Training for Women
Chief Traffic Officer Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi shared details about training opportunities for women.
He said the LOS Ferozepur Road facility provides free scooter-riding training exclusively to women. According to the CTO, thousands of women have already learned driving skills through traffic police driving schools.
Women are also receiving women-to-women training services at the newly established scooter schools.
The approach is designed to provide a comfortable training environment for female participants.
Punjab Focuses on Youth Mobility
The new facilities form part of Punjab’s broader efforts to improve mobility opportunities for young people. The E-Bike Scheme is also intended to provide students with greater access to transportation.
Authorities expect scooter training and dedicated licensing services to make the process easier for young applicants. The initiative particularly focuses on helping women gain driving skills and greater mobility.
