Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has received clearance to operate the Boeing 787 aircraft in Pakistan for the first time. The approval follows an inspection conducted by aviation officials at Oslo Airport.

A delegation led by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Director General Nader Shafi Dar inspected the aircraft. Following the inspection, officials granted permission for the aircraft to operate in Pakistan.

The development marks an important step in PIA’s plans to expand its international operations. The airline aims to strengthen its long-haul services and improve the travel experience for passengers.

Two More Boeing 787 Aircraft Await Inspection

Two additional Boeing 787 aircraft are scheduled for inspections as part of the approval process. The second aircraft will undergo an inspection at Oslo Airport on Monday.

Meanwhile, the third aircraft is scheduled for inspection at London Airport on November 20. These inspections are expected to support the airline’s plans to introduce the aircraft into its operations.

Earlier this month, PIA signed an agreement with Norwegian aviation group Norse Atlantic. The deal covers two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

The agreement aims to increase the airline’s long-haul capacity, particularly between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. The aircraft are expected to support the airline’s international expansion plans.

PIA to Launch First Boeing 787 Flight on October 31

PIA is scheduled to operate its first Boeing 787 flight on October 31. Flight PK-786 will depart from London for Islamabad.

The flight is expected to arrive in Islamabad with passengers on November 1. This will mark the beginning of the airline’s Boeing 787 passenger operations.

The airline will also introduce new staff uniforms on October 31. The launch will coincide with the introduction of the new aircraft.

The move represents a significant development in the airline’s efforts to modernise its operations. The Boeing 787 is designed for long-distance travel and is used by airlines worldwide.

Airline Plans Further Fleet Improvements

The introduction of the Boeing 787 aircraft is expected to strengthen PIA’s international network. The airline aims to improve its services on long-haul routes and provide passengers with a better travel experience.

Alongside the new aircraft, PIA is also planning upgrades to its existing fleet. The airline is working to modernise the cabins of its Boeing 777 aircraft.

These upgrades are intended to improve passenger comfort on international journeys. Together, the new aircraft and cabin improvements could support the airline’s broader service development plans.
