Police have reportedly arrested Pakistani TikToker Ansar, widely known as Mr Patlu, during a raid in Islamabad. According to unofficial sources, the arrest took place in the Gulberg area. However, authorities have not officially confirmed the development.

The reported arrest comes days after a deadly stampede at Faraz Cricket Ground on Daska Road. The incident occurred during wedding celebrations featuring an advertised prize giveaway. A large crowd gathered at the venue following promotional campaigns on social media.

The event included several prizes, reportedly featuring a car, 50 motorcycles, and other gifts. However, the celebrations turned tragic when attendees rushed towards the ground. An announcement over loudspeakers reportedly instructed people to enter simultaneously, triggering a stampede. Two people, identified as Aqeel and Rehan, lost their lives in the incident. Rehan reportedly died after being transferred to Lahore for medical treatment. Several other people were also injured during the chaos.

Police said the event organisers violated permission conditions and failed to follow essential safety procedures. The incident also caused major traffic disruption on the Daska-Sialkot road. Reports further indicated that public and private property suffered damage during the disorder.

Following the incident, police seized the car and 50 motorcycles intended for the prize draw. Authorities also registered a case at Motra Police Station against nine named suspects. Around 40 to 45 unidentified security guards were also included in the case.

The named suspects reportedly include Mr Patlu, his brother Kashif Bashir, venue owner Shahid Javed, Daniyal Munir, and Munir Ahmed. Mohsin Ali, Irshad Ali, Abdullah Mehdi, and Zohaib Mansha were also named in the FIR. The case was registered on the complaint of the station house officer. The reported charges include Sections 322, 188, 148, 149, 431, 440, and 109. Section 16 of the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance was also included.

Meanwhile, Mr Patlu previously addressed the tragedy in a video statement. He expressed grief over the deaths and denied responsibility for the incident. He claimed that he was not present at the venue when the stampede occurred.

The reported arrest has drawn further attention to the investigation. However, the circumstances surrounding Mr Patlu’s reported detention remain unclear. Police or other law enforcement agencies have yet to issue an official confirmation.
