Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s Residence Targeted in Drone Attack from Lebanon

The Israeli government has reported that a drone was launched at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Caesarea on Saturday, but fortunately, there were no injuries.

Sirens were activated in Israel to alert residents of incoming fire from Lebanon, although Netanyahu and his wife were not at home during the incident.

The drone strike is part of an escalating conflict with Lebanon’s Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas backed by Iran. On Friday, Hezbollah announced its intention to increase hostilities by launching more guided missiles and explosive drones into Israel.

This escalation follows the death of Hezbollah’s long-time leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in an Israeli airstrike last month and Israel’s deployment of ground forces into Lebanon earlier this month. Meanwhile, Israel remains in a standoff with Hamas in Gaza, with both sides showing little interest in resolving the conflict, particularly after the recent death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, called Sinwar’s death a significant loss but insisted that Hamas remains strong, stating, “Hamas is alive and will stay alive.”
