Five weeks after the plane they were travelling in crashed into the bush, four children have been discovered alive.

Near the scene of the Cessna 206 crash, the Colombian soldiers came to their aid. The pilot and three other people on board perished. Extensive searches had been made for the kids, who are siblings and range in age from 13 to 9 to 4 with the youngest being only 11 months.

Following the discovery of the abandoned fruit that the children had eaten to survive, officials frequently voiced their confidence that they were still alive.

While trying to find their footsteps, rescuers also discovered makeshift shelters constructed of forest foliage.
