Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has acknowledged that people are spending “meaningfully” less time on Facebook and Instagram, as the company faces a US antitrust case over its acquisitions of Instagram and WhatsApp.
Testifying in federal court, Zuckerberg said user activity has shifted toward messaging apps, adding new weight to concerns about declining engagement on Meta’s core platforms.

This comes as TikTok continues to dominate, with US users averaging 108 minutes a day — far ahead of Facebook’s 63 and Instagram’s 48, according to recent studies.
Zuckerberg also hinted at future changes, mentioning ideas like resetting users’ social graphs or returning to “OG Facebook” to revive interest.
