Streaming giant Netflix is set to take viewers beyond the atmosphere through a new partnership with NASA, allowing audiences to watch real-time spacewalks, rocket launches, and stunning views from the International Space Station (ISS). The announcement was made Monday, as reported by AFP.
In a blog post, Netflix said, “Whether you’re a die-hard space nerd or someone who just really, really enjoys seeing Earth glow from 250 miles up, the countdown has officially begun.” The content will be available via a new NASA+ feed, featuring a mix of livestreams and on-demand programming.

NASA, which reported the initiative as part of its mission to broaden public engagement, emphasized that the partnership aligns with its original Space Act of 1958, which calls for sharing the story of space exploration widely. “We want to inspire new generations—from the comfort of their couch or in the palm of their hand,” said NASA+ general manager Rebecca Sirmons.
While the NASA+ feed will remain free on the space agency’s website and mobile app, this partnership helps Netflix bolster its growing lineup of livestream content. The company recently expanded its reach by livestreaming NFL games and high-profile boxing matches, signaling a strategic shift toward live programming.
