Pakistani actress Tuba Anwar has revealed the creation of a special WhatsApp group aimed at supporting mental health among women in the entertainment industry. The initiative comes in response to the tragic death of actress Humaira Asghar Ali, whose body was found in Karachi months after her passing.
In a recent interview, Tuba Anwar explained that several actresses have joined together to form this WhatsApp group. The goal is to stay connected, check on each other’s well-being, and offer emotional support, especially to those working far from home.
Tuba shared that Humaira’s death was a wake-up call. Many actresses, she said, live alone in big cities and often struggle with loneliness. This WhatsApp group is meant to make sure no one feels isolated or forgotten.
Humaira Asghar Ali had moved from Lahore to Karachi in 2018 and was living alone in a rented apartment in Defence Phase 6. Her decomposed body was found on July 8, 2025, when a court official broke into the flat due to unpaid rent. Police believe she died in October 2024.
Further investigation revealed that Humaira had no electricity, running water, or backup lighting in her flat. Her social media activity had stopped by late September 2024, and phone records confirmed her last call was made in October.
Tuba emphasized the importance of regular communication and emotional support in the entertainment world. She added that the WhatsApp group will allow actresses to share their feelings, look after each other, and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
This thoughtful move highlights the growing awareness of mental health issues in showbiz. The WhatsApp group now serves as a safe space for actresses to connect, share, and care.
