Asia Cup 2025: India Gets Permission to Face Pakistan

The eagerly awaited Asia Cup 2025 schedule is set to be revealed in the next 48 hours, as reported by Indian media outlets. Sources indicate that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has received the necessary clearance from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to allow the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan match to proceed.

Scheduled to take place from September 8 to 28, the Asia Cup 2025 will feature a Super Four format after the initial group stage. A total of eight teams will compete, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, the UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong.

The tournament’s structure and the inclusion of new teams have generated significant excitement among cricket fans.

Indian media also report that tensions between the key stakeholders—India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh—have been resolved. This breakthrough has removed major obstacles and paved the way for finalizing the tournament details.

The UAE, particularly Abu Dhabi, has emerged as a strong candidate to host the event. With its modern infrastructure and experience in hosting major cricket tournaments, the UAE remains a popular, politically neutral location for such multi-nation events.

BCCI is reportedly in the final stages of preparing the tournament schedule. Internal preparations have been expedited since the diplomatic clearance for the India-Pakistan match came through.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) recently concluded its annual meeting in Dhaka on July 24. During the meeting, significant decisions were made to expand and promote cricket across the continent.

ACC President and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi chaired the meeting, which was attended by representatives from all 25 member nations, some of whom participated virtually.

During a press briefing in Dhaka, Naqvi confirmed ongoing discussions with BCCI regarding the Asia Cup 2025 schedule. He also mentioned the possibility of expanding the tournament to eight teams, up from the initially planned six.

On the subject of the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match, Naqvi urged fans to be patient and await the official announcement of the schedule. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive atmosphere within the ACC and reiterated that all member nations have agreed to keep politics separate from cricket.

As the tournament nears, fans across Asia are eagerly waiting for the final confirmation of the Asia Cup 2025 schedule and the highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan.
