Islamabad Food Authority Recovers Over 50 Donkeys and 1,000 kg of Meat in Tarnol Raid

50 Donkeys

Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) successfully recovered over 50 donkeys and seized around 1,000 kg of donkey meat, officials confirmed. The operation highlights the growing efforts by authorities to curb illegal practices related to the sale of unapproved meat products in the capital city.

According to Dr. Tahira Siddique, Deputy Director of the Islamabad Food Authority, the raid was conducted after receiving credible information about illegal activities in the area. During the operation, a foreign national was found at the site and was promptly handed over to the local police. Investigations are currently underway to determine the destination of the seized meat and where it may have been distributed.

“The Islamabad Food Authority recovered over 50 donkeys and 1,000 kg of meat during a raid in Tarnol,” Dr. Siddique stated. She emphasized that a case has been filed against those involved in the illegal activity, and legal proceedings will follow. Additionally, the seized donkey meat is being safely disposed of to ensure it does not enter the food chain.

This raid comes as part of ongoing efforts by the Islamabad Food Authority to combat the illegal trade of animal products. Authorities are concerned about the health risks posed by the consumption of unregulated meat, especially when sourced from animals not approved for slaughter.

“The case is being thoroughly investigated, and action will be taken against the perpetrators,” Dr. Siddique added. She assured the public that the authorities are determined to track down everyone involved in this illicit operation.

As investigations continue, the Islamabad Food Authority is urging the public to report any suspicious activities related to illegal meat sales. They also reassured residents that they are committed to maintaining the safety and health of the food supply in the capital.

With the rise in such illegal practices, the Islamabad Food Authority remains vigilant and determined to protect consumers from harmful products.
