Hollywood star Orlando Bloom has opened up about his iconic role as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings franchise. The actor recently discussed whether he would reprise the role in the upcoming movie The Hunt for Gollum.
During an interview on ITV to promote his new film The Cut, Orlando Bloom said he would be honored to return if the character appears in the storyline. βIf Legolas is a part of that, I would hope that Iβd get the call. Iβd hate to see anyone else do it,β he remarked.
Bloom also praised Andy Serkis, the director of the new project and the original Gollum actor. βI donβt know the full story yet, but since itβs about Gollum, itβs possible. Of course, Iβd jump at it. I wouldnβt want anyone else to do it,β he added.
While fans are eager to see whether Legolas will return, Orlando Bloom is busy with another major release. The actor stars as a boxer in The Cut, which focuses on the struggles of athletes who must shed weight to compete.
Speaking about the demanding role, Bloom said, βIt was as intense to film as it looks on camera. I was living the role of a boxer, and Iβve always loved the boxing genre. This story felt unique and different.β
Explaining the title, he noted, βThe fight is the cut β the cutting of weight that boxers go through to step into the ring.β
The Cut is set to release on September 5, 2025, while fans wait to see if Orlando Bloom will return to Middle-earth once again.
