The bail application of popular YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, was heard in a Lahore Sessions Court on Thursday. After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge reserved the verdict, which will be announced in a later hearing.
The case involves allegations that Ducky Bhai promoted illegal online gambling apps. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) claims he received substantial payments for endorsing platforms such as Binomo.
During the hearing, Ducky Bhai’s lawyer presented arguments supporting the bail request. The NCCIA lawyer also shared the agency’s stance, citing evidence of unlawful transactions linked to gambling promotions. Following the discussions, the court decided to reserve the judgment.
Authorities had arrested Ducky Bhai on August 17 at Lahore airport as he attempted to travel abroad. His name was already included on the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL), which prevented him from leaving the country. The court initially placed him in NCCIA custody on a two-day physical remand and directed investigators to submit a detailed report at the next hearing.
The NCCIA alleges that Ducky Bhai promoted illegal gambling apps while misleading the public through social media. Officials said a mobile phone recovered from him contained WhatsApp numbers and data pointing to unlawful payments. The agency also claims he attempted to flee the country after being detained.
This development has attracted widespread attention in Pakistan due to Ducky Bhai’s large online following. The case has sparked debates on the responsibilities of social media influencers and the legal consequences of promoting prohibited online activities.
The reserved verdict is now highly anticipated, as it will determine whether Ducky Bhai is granted bail while investigations continue. The case remains under close media and public scrutiny.
